Tammy was born and raised in Victoria. The coast is her home, and she has no intention of ever moving away!
She began her career in the field of law and worked with several local firms as a legal assistant in the fields of family law, immigration, human rights, and criminal youth. At the time, Tammy also obtained her certification as a Level 3 bookkeeper and soon after transitioned to bookkeeping and accounting full-time. This arrangement allowed her to work from home which helped provide an excellent work/life balance while raising her three children.
Tammy enjoyed a 20-year working relationship with an experienced local CPA. As a result, she was able to expand her skillset and experience doing personal and corporate tax work. Upon her previous boss’ retirement, Tammy briefly ran her own bookkeeping practice, but was soon after persuaded to come and join the team at Pallan & Associates. She’s glad she did, and loves the team atmosphere, values, and culture of the firm. Although she doesn’t yet have her CPA designation, it is one of her goals for the near term.
Outside of work, Tammy and her family of five enjoy camping in the summer, and skiing/snowboarding in the winter. She also enjoys cooking, working out, and reading. Tammy admires resiliency and empathy, and brings these traits to all that she does. She loves to help others and gives her best in both her personal life and in her career.
